Children Record CMV
A Kagerou Project cosplay collaboration
Information
Inspired by the incredible DAZE Reanimate projects, this CMV will be a recreation of the Children Record music video by different cosplayers from all corners of the world! Cosplayers will each be assigned a short clip/segment of the music video, which they will be asked to recreate in cosplay.
What is a CMV?
A Cosplay Music Video (or CMV for short), as the name entails, is a music video using footage of cosplayers acting in character to the song! While traditional CMVs involve individuals gathering in the same place, ours will be a compilation of cosplayers in different places, edited together into one video. Similar to a multi-animator or multi-editor project, where each individual is assigned a segment of the song.
What does participation entail?
Participants will be assigned a part of the song based on their character preference, and asked to recreate that moment of the music video in their cosplay. We'll assign your part based on the character(s) you chose, so nobody will be asked to go looking for a new cosplay they don't have!
Is there an age limit?
Participants must be age 15 or older.
Can I keep my face covered?
Absolutely. If you're not comfortable showing your face on camera, there are ways to keep hidden! You can use a mask, hood, or hand to obscure your face in your footage, or you can ask to have your face censored in the edit. We only ask that you don't digitally alter the video in any way yourself. Under 16s will be encouraged to keep their faces covered.
Can I use footage I already have?
While we would prefer you to record a recreation of the music video, we understand that many people may want to participate who don't have the time to record new footage. If you have archive footage of yourself in a kagepro cosplay, you may submit it for use in a "freestyle" segment of the video. Just let us know well in advance if this is what you plan to do!
What will be done with the final video?
The complete CMV will be posted to YouTube and potentially other platforms such as TikTok. At this time YouTube is the only one we can confirm. Participants will be consulted before a decision is made to post elsewhere as well.
Can I closet cosplay?
Closet cosplay, handmade, storebought, doesn't matter! If you're in any sort of cosplay as any character from the Kagerou Project, you're welcome to join.
Who is the organiser?
The main organiser for this project is Pixistr. I'm 20 years old and I've been cosplaying since 2019. I've been a fan of kagepro since 2017! I put this little project together because I've seen the incredible talent of kagepro cosplayers and I want to do something big as a community this August 15.
